You will shape the world you will live in.

Dear Prospective Parents,

Welcome to Lynnhaven School. We are located in rolling hills of Eastern Henrico County, Virginia. We understand that searching for the right progressive learning environment for your student can be challenging. We encourage you to get to know our community by scheduling a tour.

As you navigate and explore the various independent schools in and around Richmond, we encourage you to evaluate if the schools you are seeking align with your family’s core values.  Our admissions events are designed to help you answer that question. Lynnhaven is a place where students have the FREEDOM to Be. We are committed to our promise to prepare them for life beyond graduation. We are here to answer any questions you may have about the school.

Best,

Alyson LeMaster
Director of Admission and College Counseling

Lynnhaven Admission Process

1. Inquire
Click the "inquire" from the drop down menu under the Admissions Page and fill it out.

2. Tour
The Lynnhaven admissions team will reach out and schedule a time for you to visit Lynnhaven. Most tours are scheduled for Tuesday or Thursdays.

3. Shadow
After you've inquired, toured the school, and/or participated in an open house, the next step is to shadow for a day. Shadowing includes sitting in on classes, meeting our teachers, and interviewing with the Director of Admission. This is an important part of the admission process for inquiring families as well as the student.

4. Apply
Steps 1-3 MUST occur before this step. If the Admissions Committee believes your student will be a fit at Lynnhaven, then you will be invited to apply. There is a non-refundable $50.00 application fee.

5. Decision
Admissions decisions will be communicated at the end of our regular admissions window. We do admit and enroll students on a rolling basis, throughout the school year as space permits. No decision will be made until ALL application materials are received and processed with the admissions office.

6. Enrollment
Parents of accepted students will receive a decision letter from the admissions team and, per your commitment, an enrollment contract via LynxNet. Contracts should be completed and the enrollment fee paid to reserve your student’s place for the current or upcoming school year.

7. Family Orientation
Newly enrolled Lynnhaven families must complete orientation before the start of the school year. Families who enroll mid-year will complete an abbreviated version of orientation. In either case, it's a designated time to meet faculty and staff as well as other new students and families. Additionally, our Leadership Team will review the school policies, procedures, and school calendar as well as respond to questions and concerns.

8. First Day of School!
This is the final step in the admissions process.
