College Counseling
Lynnhaven School's college counseling program is designed to help guide each student individually through what can be a complicated yet exciting journey. We formally provide direct counseling and support through a course called Senior Seminar. The first semester is completely dedicated to SAT Prep and completing college applications. The second semester is dedicated to seminar readings related to social justice issues in America.
Though it is very exciting, choosing a college may be the first major decision that you will make about a student's life. Like all major decisions, much research, thought, and discussion should take place as the decision is being made. We strongly encourage students to take the lead in this process. Parents are an important part of the process. However, this is a student's journey to lead, and while counselors, teachers and parents play an important support role, it is their process from beginning to end.
