Endowment - Lynnhaven Forever

The strength and stability of any non-profit organization rests on the bedrock of an endowment. An endowment is money that has been invested so that it generates income from interest or other earnings. This income can then be used to fund scholarships and programs, while leaving the principal amount untouched to continue earning income.

An endowment is like a fruit tree orchard. The seeds of your donations are planted and trees added, which are carefully tended and preserved. As those trees increase and grow, they will produce more and more fruit each year that will sustain future generations for many decades into the future, in perpetuity.

As a young school, our goal is to begin the process of planting seeds with a goal of harvesting some of our fruit, while planting and growing more trees.

While annual giving produces an immediate impact and benefit during a year, gifts to the endowment have a permanent and lasting impact, ensuring that the mission and vision of Lynnhaven Academy can continue long into the future.

Lynnhaven Academy is in the beginning stages of starting an endowment fund, thanks to the initial pledge of $40,000.00 from our founder, Johnathan G. Harris and his wife Dr. Courtney Hughes-Harris. Our goal is to intentionally grow the endowment fund so that Lynnhaven can be actualized forever.

For more information on making an endowed gift, please contact the Development Office via email or by phone at (804) 750-2300 ext. 2
Lynnhaven School is accredited by the AdvancED Accreditation Commission, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, NCA Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, & the Northwest Accreditation Commission.
