Ms. Bernadett Carter
Interim Head of School
Bernadett Carter brings over two decades of experience in education, with a deep commitment to academic excellence and student success. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Virginia State University, and went on to obtain a Master of Science in Mathematics from the same institution.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Carter has served as an adjunct instructor at John Tyler Community College for five years and has also taught at Rappahannock Community College. Additionally, she has worked within Richmond and Henrico County Schools, enriching the lives of countless students through her expertise in mathematics and dedication to education.
For nearly a decade, Mrs. Carter has been an integral part of the Lynnhaven School community. She has served an many leadership capacities such as Dean of Students, Dean of Faculty, and most recently Assistant Head of School. Her leadership, passion, and steadfast commitment to Lynnhaven’s mission have made her a trusted and respected figure among students, faculty, and families. The Board of Trustees voted unanimously to elect and appointed her as the Interim Head of School for the remainder of the academic year.
Beyond her professional achievements, Mrs. Carter enjoys spending time with her family, attending her children’s activities, reading, and participating in various church organizations. With her extensive experience and dedication, she is well-positioned to guide Lynnhaven School through this transitional period with strength and vision.
