When you begin your high school journey at Lynnhaven School, the world becomes the classroom. Everything is learning.
Learning becomes a collaborative effort designed and brought to fruition by students and Lynnhaven School faculty. We provide the framework for compelling and engaging experiences that nurture confidence, autonomy, resilience, open-mindedness, and social responsibility.
Our agile classrooms encourage continuous learning iterations rooted in reflection, critical thinking, and global citizenship. Students get the time to experience deep learning allowing them to thoroughly understand ideas and concepts, cultivate internal motivations, and creatively apply their knowledge to pursue a more just world. Re-evaluating and changing direction is part of the learning process, and Lynnhaven students are given the freedom to forge their own journey end encouraged to explore new interests and develop their passions while pursuing mastery of the skills that will equip them to be leaders at school and in life. The safe, inclusive environment makes it a comfortable place to learn and take risks.

Student Life
Student life is made of two important pieces: work and play. The work of the student at any school is largely academic, but at Lynnhaven, it is also service-oriented and practical. Students are expected to complete volunteer hours, work around the schoolhouse, and serve in action-oriented groups like Student Ambassadors, Student Government, & Grounds Committee. We understand that there is an important balance to any work and that part of a student's life should be FUN!

House System
Our house system provides numerous benefits, including fostering a sense of belonging and identity, promoting positive peer relationships, and encouraging healthy competition and leadership opportunities. It often emphasizes character development, offers recognition for achievements, and creates a support system for students. Houses are based by grade leveling lead to lasting alumni connections.
