Dr. Casey Hitchcock
Head of School
Dr. Hitchcock embarked on her journey at Lynnhaven School during the 2017-2018 academic year, assuming the role of an English Teacher. With a solid educational foundation, she holds a BSEd from Ohio University in Middle Childhood Education, earned in 2007. Her dedication and exemplary leadership quickly propelled her to the esteemed position of Head of Middle School within a few months. With an advanced understanding of effective leadership strategies, she seamlessly integrated herself into the academic fabric of the school, assuming the chairmanship of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and AdvancEd Accreditation Team in the Spring of 2018, further solidifying her commitment to fostering excellence. Recognizing her potential for driving transformative change, Dr. Hitchcock was promoted to Deputy Head of School and then eventually was named the second Head of School at Lynnhaven in 2023.
Dr. Hitchcock fortified her expertise with an Master of Education from Vanderbilt University in Organizational Leadership, obtained in 2011. She later earned Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Organizational Innovation from Marymount University. These academic pursuits further deepened her understanding of innovative educational practices and fortified her ability to revolutionize traditional learning models.
Driven by an indomitable spirit of innovation, she continually pushes the boundaries of educational possibilities, championing student-centric methodologies like Agile, Project-Based Learning (PBL), and mastery grading. Dr. Hitchcock seeks to challenge the status quo and redefine the very essence of schooling, ensuring a transformative educational experience for all students.
