For the first time, I feel like a scholar, not just a student.

Student Life
Student life is made of two important pieces: work and play. The work of the student at any school is largely academic, but at Lynnhaven, it is also service-oriented and practical. Students are expected to complete volunteer hours, work around the schoolhouse, and serve in action-oriented groups like Student Ambassadors, Student Government, & Grounds Committee.
The school organizes some evening and weekend activities, but most are student driven. Here are some examples of activities that happen around campus
We also have a number of student-led groups on campus. These are always changing, but here are some examples:

House System
The House System at Lynnhaven School exists to support and promote student engagement through community building, school traditions and programming, and academic advising to ensure a vibrant and engaged community that enhances the student experience. Through a warm and welcoming environment, the house system develops students while they grow in themselves and develop key relationships with other Lynnhaven students, faculty, and staff.
Forge the Relationships (Building Community) - Lynnhaven School believes that when students engage in school roles and experiences outside of the classroom, they are able to develop greater self-knowledge of their talents and strengths as well as improve their interpersonal competence. Students are provided with opportunities for team building and community building through house challenges and weekly discussions.
Make the Memories (Traditions and Programming) School traditions and programming play an important role in supporting student engagement and ensuring a vibrant campus community. The house system works to ensure that all students are aware and involved in campus traditions such as costume contests for Halloween, spirit week, and more. Lynnhaven traditions become a part of a student’s overall experience, thus providing them with cherished life-long memories.
Learn the Lessons (Advising) - In most institutions of education, faculty members are required to assume the role of an advisor. Our goal is to keep a close watch on our students both socially and emotionally as well as academically. The house system provides personalized attention and early intervention that enhances lifelong learning and nurtures a student’s responsibility and integrity.
Our house system provides numerous benefits, including fostering a sense of belonging and identity, promoting positive peer relationships, and encouraging healthy competition and leadership opportunities. It often emphasizes character development, offers recognition for achievements, and creates a support system for students. Houses are based by grade leveling lead to lasting alumni connections.
