As we step into another promising school year, I am excited to introduce a new platform that embodies the spirit of our vibrant community - "Sassafras Stories." This blog is a space where parents, students, faculty, staff, and alumni can come together to share their unique perspectives, experiences, and narratives that make up the tapestry of Lynnhaven School.
At Lynnhaven, we believe that every voice contributes to the richness of our collective story. "Sassafras Stories" offers us a canvas to paint our tales, reflecting the myriad journeys that shape who we are as individuals and as a community. Whether it's a memorable classroom moment, a transformative learning experience, or an anecdote that brings a smile, we invite you to be a part of this wonderful storytelling endeavor. Speaking of stories, let's reflect upon the first days of school. This year, we've embraced the principles of Agile Classrooms, fostering adaptability, collaboration, and a dynamic learning environment. The energy on campus has been palpable as our students explore their learning spaces, working in teams throughout the building, particularly the Lynx Lounge. This warm and welcoming place was the brainchild of our student wellness committee and has already become a vibrant hub of creativity and connection. It warms my heart to see our students embrace their surroundings, and settle into their space. I am immensely proud to witness the vision of our founder, Dr. Harris, continue to thrive. Just this week, Dr. Harris visited our campus to say hello and check in with new staff and students. He exclaimed, "The place looks amazing! The vibe and mood is joyous and I am so proud of the legacy that continues." I am honored to carry forward his legacy. As we navigate this academic year, I encourage each of you to explore "Sassafras Stories" and consider contributing your own unique tale. Your stories hold the power to inspire, uplift, and connect us all in profound ways. Together, we're shaping a narrative that celebrates growth, learning, and the bonds that tie us together. - Dr. Hitchcock Head of School, Lynnhaven School

#lynxallinHear stories written from many perspectives. Just like the petals in the Sassafras leaf are all different, so are our voices. ArchivesCategories |
